REGISTER TO BID IN PERSON

To be able to bid at a Chorley’s auction, you must register and obtain a bidding number (sometimes called a paddle) from our saleroom office. If you have not bid with us before, you will be asked to provide proof of identity and current address - a driving licence photocard is ideal as it has your address and photograph. Otherwise a passport and recent utility bill would be acceptable.

REGISTER for absentee bidding

If you are unable to attend the auction to bid in person, you can leave commission bids or register for telephone bidding or online bidding. New bidders will be asked to provide proof of identity and current address. You can do this in one of two ways:

Email a scan of your driving licence (must have current address) to us at info@chorleys.com

Submit your credit/debit card details for verification through our secure payment page in your Chorley's account. We would ask you to make a payment of £1 (enter this as 1.00 in the amount box below) in order to have your card details checked. You will receive an automatic authorisation reply/receipt upon completion of the payment and will then be authorised to bid with us by any means for all future auctions. We will refund the £1 after the auction.

register to bid online

We offer internet bidding, with no additional fees, through our platform Chorley's Live.  The first time you bid in this way, you will first need to create an account

You will be asked to provide your address and contact details, then verify this with a debit or credit card.  The verification process will take 10p from your card and refund it.

Once you have successfully created an account on Chorley's Live, you will need to register separately for each auction in which you wish to bid.

To do this, find the sale in the Auction Calendar and click Register to Bid, then follow the further instructions.

If you have any difficulties, please contact us and we will talk you through the process.

Please note that although there are no fees for the additional online bidding service, our buyer's premium of 23.5% (28.2% including VAT) will still apply to all winning bids.
