A rare Spanish Colonial travelling writing desk, Colombia, late 17th Century, in Barniz de Pasto lacquer on wood with silver leaf, the fall front enclosing drawers, the cover lacking hinges, the top and sides decorated vases of flowers, hunting scenes, lions and armadillos, 43.5cm wide, 32cm deep, 24.5cm high

All over fair condition. Hinges, front handle and brass fittings missing. Brass handles likely later and lower drawer with strong handles. Exterior heavily faded. Some losses to inside lid due to removal of fittings. Side moulding to lid detached but present. A few minor moulding cracks and chips. Lower drawer with chip and losses to moulding lower left. Drawers glide well. All over scuffs, scratches, wear and minor losses commensurate with age and use.
