A pair of Sheraton period satinwood corner commodes with serpentine fronts, the tops widely banded in ebony, the drawer fronts similarly cross banded, one fitted four long drawers, the other fitted as a washstand with hinged top, one false and three long drawers under, raised on bracket feet, 93cm wide

Likely made in London's St Martin's Lane district where Thomas Chippendale, John Cobb, William Vile, William and John Linnell, Ince and Mayhew and other celebrated cabinet makers worked

Cabinet with hinged top with small banding loss. Veneer cracking in parts. Some moulding losses to edges of drawers. Some veneer and moulding replacements. Light chips and losses to base. Lacking interior fittings. Drawers need adjusting to run well. Other cabinet with later banding restoration to top, veneer cracks to banding. Chips and small losses to drawer surrounds, edge chips and losses. Drawers need shushing to run well. Lacking keys. Both cabinets with wear, scuffs and scratches commensurate with age and use.
