A Chinese carved wood opium bed, early 20th Century, with a trellis superstructure and panelled sides, the back fitted five drawers and a cabinet, the fret carved surround with painted panel inserts above two friezes with landscape and calligraphy carvings, craved flowering trees with birds and squirrels, on a dragon carved base, 250cm wide, 248cm high, 202cm deep, to take a mattress 196cm x 124cm

Elements of the covering trellis broken and missing, the storage section with panel splits and a break to the top, the trellis carvings with a few small splits and losses, several other pieces of trellis broken off, two joint holes to the central front panel lacking inserts, old woodworm visible to front rail, stretchers loose to base and lacking bed slats.
