[Thomas Paine Interest] An 18th Century tin pill box reputedly having belonged to Thomas Paine with a circular removable lid, 5.5cm diameter, 3cm high accompanied by a 19th Century manuscript note of provenance reading 'This box once the property of Mr Thomas Payne was given by Mrs Payne to Mrs Andrews of Cranbrook in the County of Kent and since her decease it has been in the possession of her son in law Mr Thos Smith who presented it to Mr J. Watson who gave it to Mr Jos. Cowen. Mrs Eliza Payne died July 17th 1808, Aged 68 years and is Buried in Cranbrook Church Yard.'
