Sir William Arbuthnot, 1st Baronet of Edinburgh (24 December 1766 – 18 September 1829) was a Scottish landowner and politician. He served as Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Lord Lieutenant of Edinburgh and Lord Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh. John Alves Arbuthnot (1802–1875) was Sir William's son and owned Coworth House, near Ascot in Berkshire. Arbuthnot was a director of the London Assurance Company and the London and Colonial Bank. Thomas George Odling (1911-2002) was a Clerk in the House of Commons.
