A Louis XV style ormolu mounted kingwood bureau de dame, the sloping front opening to reveal a fitted interior and a well, the waved frieze on squared cabriole legs, applied with three oval Sevres-style porcelain panels, on cabriole legs with sabots, 94cm high, 69cm wide, 48cm deep
Lacking key, metal mounts pattinated and oxidised, fall front and top of desk faded lighter than the remainder and generally a little dry and spotted, ceramic inset plaques to fall and frieze a little grubby but no visible cracks, a little wear to the flower painting, the mounts attached with pins, with some pins loose, two parts of moulding missing to right front leg and lower right frieze, a little veneer lifting to bombe side and further movement crack to the right, a few small veneer chips and losses to lower back apron, the interior with pattinated mounts and fittings, the interior in good condition with some rubbing to the slide cover to the well, velvet writing surface with pressure marks and slightly de-laminated to the corners, general scuffs, scratches and marks acceptable with age and usage, no obvious signs of woodworm
