Francois Houtin (French, born 1950)/'Vue un Nouvel Eden'/signed, inscribed and dated '99/engraving, 29cm x 37cm/Note: A French artist, garden designer and engraver whose work is filled with fantastic visions of imaginary gardens. Houtin is an artist close to Sir Roy Strong in his approach to the garden as a magical experience in which trees and plants create another world. In 2006 he approached Houtin to do a series of engravings based on the Laskett gardens within that idiom, sadly the financial crash put an end to the project
