Commissioned in 1921, Queen Mary's Dolls' House was first shown at the British Empire Exhibition in 1924. Royal Warrant holders were approached to make miniature objects for the house and were permitted to manufacture duplicates for publicity purposes. Two pairs of similar vases are displayed in the drawing room and King's bedroom of the dolls' house.
