A Commonwealth oak, ebonised and inlaid enclosed chest of drawers, dated 1654, the foliate inlays of mother-of-pearl and bone, the raised mouldings of snakewood, the upper section with one narrow and one deep drawer, the lower section with three plain drawers enclosed by doors, 118cm wide, 65cm deep, 129cm high

All over fair condition. Later moulded edge top, corbels and dentil cornice likely later. Drawers good with some movement cracks and 18th century blue paper lining. Metal fittings and escutcheons later. Later locks and pocket locks, Lower deep drawer with later turned handles, Lower section with internal drawers with wear, scuffs and old stable cracks, original ring handles to lower drawers, internal drawer runners replaced. Small cut in interior frame right by upper drawer to lower section, later patched. right decorative outer panel to lower door reglued with circular cut in to interior of door. One hinge replaced - some wood patch restorations. signs of old worm
